My family of 5 was staying in Itasca for the 4th of July weekend. Saturday, we had gone to the city and hot back to our hotel pretty late, nearly 9pm. Most restaurants were closed or getting ready to close. There was a short list of available restaurants and Good Tequilas was on it. We decided to give it a shot.
We arrived and were greeted and seated promptly. Chips and salsa were provided very quickly and our drink order was taken. We weren't quite ready to order when our drinks arrived so our server face is a couple more minutes and returned. We ordered without issue. We did have several requests for things on the side and even getting "one of each" in the chimichanga dinner.
Our food came out fairly quickly. We got the following:
Kids taco with fries- 11 y.o. says delicious
Kids chicken nuggets with fries-9 y.o. says yum!
Al Carbon Nachos from the app menu-14 y.o. says delicious, she even brought her leftovers back to the hotel and are then right out of the fridge the next day.
Chimichanga dinner (one chicken, one beef)-husband ate it all and said it was some of the best he's had!
Arizona Burrito-it was delicious! The cheese was so good, and it was huge!
Overall, the food was excellent. The rice was awesome as well, not dry like it tends to be.
The service was superb. The server wasn't busy with people but he was doing his nightly "chores". He did not, however, let that interfere with keeping tabs on us.
Overall we were delighted at our experience and if we're in the area again, would definitely return! -

My family and I have been patronizing this place since it used to be La Magdalena, and ever since the day it became Good Tequilas. Acknowledging full well that this isn't anywhere close to authentic Mexican food, we embraced the Tex-Mex cuisine and appreciated the service we received. But after last night, I'm done with Good Tequilas. Sad, because we've celebrated many birthdays, anniversaries, and family meals here. But after celebrating my daughter's birthday here last night, I'm done.
Our party had a total of 11 people, 5 of which arrived around 6:30pm. When we requested a table, they placed the chairs right next to each other, touching the next. I asked for an additional 2-seat table, which was sitting empty right next to ours. After some humming and hawing, he finally agreed and pulled it over. We sat down, and waited for the rest of our party. But, prior to sitting down, I handed the guy a birthday cake (as we've done multiple times in the past), and asked him to keep it refrigerated until after we were done with our meal, to which he obliged.
Our waiter, who honestly was horrible, stopped by with a basket of chips and salsa. Didn't ask if we wanted to start with something to drink, not even water. About 20 minutes go by, and the rest of our party arrives. Another 10 minutes go by before we see our waiter, so I had to ask the busboy to flag him down. He comes by and says, "are you ready to order?" "Um, no, we would like drinks first."
Now our full party is here, but no chips or salsa reload, no waters, no utensils or napkins. He comes back with the drinks, we have to request chips and salsa...AGAIN. He comes back about 5 minutes later with 3 baskets of chips and salsa. Good, we finally have something to munch on. He comes back again, a few minutes later, and we're ready to order. Food is still excellent, prices are very fair as well.
After the meal, I ask him to bring out the cake. He brings out the whole box! I asked if they stopped plating it and putting a candle on it, no singing, no sombrero? "Oh yea, I can bring out plates." At this point, I ask for a manager. Guess what? No manager. There's a guy who is "in charge tonight," but besides being apologetic, he's no help either.
We pay, take the boxed cake, and cut it at home. Good Tequilas, you need to realize that there's competition all over. Just good food won't keep you going. -

The Margs were good other than a few things...thing 1. I watched as they funneled gallons of this mix from a tub into a smaller container right at the bar which felt disgusting. Thing 2. There was a drunk ass guy at the bar harassing employees and a bar patron and none of the managers did anything. Once the drunk guy left, we all (8-10 of us bar patrons) celebrated and chatted about how rude and disgusting the guy was. Really just too much margarita flavoring made the marg unenjoyable but I like my Margs strong.
The food was pretty good, quesadillas for 2 with plenty of chicken and cheese. Salsa was a bit on the spicier side but not bad. I'll be back and if that creep at the bar shows up I'll be sure to let him know he's not welcome. -

My hubby and I went here for lunch today, and we had an awesome waiter(Johnathan) who was wonderful. The atmosphere is bright and beautiful, the food was delicious. We'll definitely come back.

Standard "family-in-law" haunt in the EGV suburbs. I went for the first time with my in laws during Memorial Day week/weekend and it reminded me of the Acapulco chain that I used to frequent with my family as a kid in Socal. Not authentic by any means but fit the bill for the occasion. Surprised at how good/not bad their chile rellenos were. They do pour a pretty mean margarita, and price-wise was very reasonable. Service is friendly, and they know their regulars quite well (read, my in laws go there almost weekly). They are a huge fan of their queso fundido if you like that sort of stuff, but not my personal favorite. Not a bad place to go to if you are looking for more sit down, fast casual atmosphere.
